The
role of the education sector in nutrition
The public education sector represents the largest segment of society because it is directly linked to it, and there is hardly a home or family without representation within the educational educational institution. From this standpoint, the plan to raise the level of nutrition for the public education sector included a set of goals and (24) basic activities, the most important of which is providing school feeding and nutritional supplements to school students, raising the level of awareness of the importance of healthy and sound nutrition among male and female students in schools, activating the role of health supervisors and community participation in improving the nutritional and health status in schools, and providing a good healthy environment within Schools, material and financial support for the education of girls in remote rural areas.
Objectives of the sectoral nutrition plan for public education
- Providing key nutritional and health interventions for children and adolescents through schools.
- Providing students in schools with nutritious foods.
- Improving water and sanitation in schools.
- Activating the role of health supervisors in schools to contribute to improving the nutritional and health status of mothers and children through school activities.
- Activating the community’s role in contributing to improving the nutritional and health status of mothers and children through school activities.
- Improving girls’ enrollment in basic education and their survival until completing the educational stage.
