The Scaling Up Nutrition
Movement in Yemen
- SUN Yemen is a movement which brings all stakeholders and partners in the humanitarian and development together, Under the leadership of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, to work together towards the common goal of a Yemen free from all forms of malnutrition.
- Members of the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement in Yemen (SUN Yemen) are working to strengthen institutional and programmatic integration in order to eliminate malnutrition in all its forms in Yemen
- In order to create an enabling environment and enhance integration between line-ministries/executive actors, donors, development partners and technical partners, SUN Yemen was established to undertake support and coordination tasks for sectoral plans and activities based on the role of relevant parties.

2012
Policy formulation
Policy formulation and cross-sectoral coordination will facilitate the creation of an enabling environment for improved coordination on nutrition programs among line ministries, other government institutions, NGOs and donors and advocate for resource mobilization from government and development partners. In addition, advocating on nutrition issues, updating the Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Action Plan (MSNAP) based on changing needs, supporting implementing partners in formulating the necessary guidance, developing and updating periodic action plans at the national level, as well as monitoring and evaluation activities.
From a technical standpoint
From a technical standpoint, SUN Yemen ensures coordination with the relevant authorities through the Steering Committee and the Technical Team, which includes all the relevant authorities (the Ministry of Public Health and Population, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Wealth, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Water and Environment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Information, and the Ministry of Culture, in addition to representatives
